I was raised in San
Francisco. The view from my high
school was of the Golden Gate Bridge.
The city was my
artistic playground. I would ride the
bus after school to the various museums
for art classes. I believed the Japanese
Tea Garden was built just for me.
My mother always arranged fresh
flowers and my father
who was a doctor took painting classes
at the San
Francisco Art Institute. My parents
appreciated and
collected modern art. I remember
going to the Peter
Max opening at the De Young museum
. It was wild.
My grandparents lived across the
street from the
Palace of Fine Arts. The ducks were
always happy to
see me with my grandmothers stale
bread.
We took a yearly summer trip to national
parks where I fell in love with wild
places. My love of the outdoors, children
and art led me to work summers as
a camp counselor.
I spent two years at San Diego State
and completed my degrees at Sonoma
State in Environmental Studies and
Counseling.
During college I worked summers as
a river guide for trips for special
needs populations.
For many years I was a partner in
Bennett Valley Farm,a floral design
business.
I am a Certified Massage Therapist
and member of Associated Bodywork
Professionals. . I received recognition
as an Honor Student at Alive and Well
School of Conscious Bodywork in Corte
Madera California and am committed
to continually expanding and deepening
my skills through continued education
and teacher assistance.
In addition to my private practice,
I volunteer regularly at a women's
homeless shelter and a senior center
offering chair massage. |
